A good customer testimonial should never be underestimated.
Not only will sharing someone’s personal feedback be helpful for those considering investing in your products or services, but sometimes, really good ones resonate more deeply.
Take Leo for example. Leo came to visit our Gary, Indiana shop recently and shared his personal thoughts and experience with our Eagle Tarp System to our founder’s son, Zak Verduyn. To Zak’s surprise, he told quite a shocking story that could have ended in catastrophe.
“[Leo] is a super nice guy…he came in this morning thanking us for building a system that saved his life,” said Zak.
When we first looked at the pictures together last week, both Zak and I were shocked that Leo made it out of the situation, unharmed. Safety has always been a primary aspect in the design of our sliding tarp system by keeping drivers on the ground while tarping their cargo. At Verduyn Tarps, we have always taken pride in the fact that our retractable tarp system will save time, fuel, and money, but not necessarily human lives.
These pictures don’t quite tell the story as good as Leo.
“Just recently, my flatbed was loaded up with 1,000 lbs. bundles of aluminum tubing. The forklift was triple stacking them when the operator accidentally bumped one of the stacks on the trailer. I was on the ground winding up my straps…,” recants Leo. As you can see from the photo, his strap winder is on the ground under the bundle where he was standing. If that cart wasn’t there, the repercussions would have been catastrophic.

Because of the superior strength of our cart and track, the bundles were held back from falling onto anyone. The rear cart caught the load and saved Leo from being crushed.
Our carts are constructed with 2″ x 2″ 6061-T6 reinforced aluminum tubing and cast aluminum corners. No other gliding tarp system on the market uses this level of strength in its materials. We also manufacture the strongest track in the industry – 1/2″ thick at the bolt locations. Made strong and durable, our integrated bump rails are designed to withstand forklift bumps.
Therefore, Leo’s Eagle Tarp System was able to hold the carts in place even with a thousand pounds of pressure on it!
