Customer Service & Sales Representative, Southgate, MI
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Here at Verduyn Tarps, we manufacture and install Retractable Tarp Systems for flatbed trailers. We also operate a repair shop and a retail store for cargo equipment, tarps, and other truck and trailer accessories. We are a family-owned business that has been around since 1986.
You are a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible individual who wants to work in our Customer Experience Team at our Southgate, Michagan location. You thrive on excellence in customer service, assisting customers with outstanding product and industry knowledge, and have a passion for creating meaningful connections.
Essential Functions Include:
- Provide superior customer service to in-store customers and in-bound callers regarding cargo equipment and related flatbed trucking supply needs
- Support and assist the counter staff with the sales of equipment and supplies to walk-in customers
- Communicate closely with customers via their preferred channel of communication (i.e., phone, email, fax, text) to build excellent business rapport
- Respond to requests for orders, product information, estimates, and lead times, etc. promptly and courteously
- Take responsibility for order entry while coordinating with Purchasing department to ensure accuracy of in-stock items, including managing the order process through to final delivery to the customer
- Make outbound calls to our existing customer base as well as cold-calling new opportunities
- Follow up with customers regarding outstanding quotes
- Filing invoices, packing slips and work orders
- Solve challenges - find creative win-win solutions

You’re an exceptional 'people-person' with a strong business acumen. You possess awesome customer service and support skills with a minimum of 1-2 years of related experience. Ideally, you’re no stranger to the trucking industry – particularly, the flatbed industry (this would be a significant asset). You love to wear many hats and work with a sense of urgency. It is apparent that your strong initiative and ability to handle increasing responsibility over time comes naturally. You are a reliable and punctual team player with a POSITIVE ‘can-do’ attitude. You can be counted on to get the job done on time and with attention to detail.
OTHER REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Computer and technology competent
- Proficient with MS Office and systems software, as required and applicable to the job
- Experience with using accounting software; specifically, Sage 50 would be an asset
- Excellent telephone manner
- Good written and verbal communication skills

JOB DESCRIPTION:
This is a full-time remote/hybrid position for an Infor Syteline/CPQ Business Analyst reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. Responsibilities include analyzing and documenting business processes, gathering and defining requirements, and improving systems to enhance operational efficiency. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to provide technical and functional solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals. The position also requires continuous evaluation of system functionalities and the implementation of enhancements to meet the company’s growth and process improvement goals.
Essential Functions Include:
Sytline Development:
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for the Infor Syteline ERP system.
- Develop, customize, and maintain Infor Syteline modules to meet evolving business needs.
- Integrate Infor Syteline with third-party systems and internal applications.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Infor Syteline ERP issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless implementation and integration of solutions.
- Conduct system testing and validation to ensure accuracy and functionality.
- Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Train end-users on Infor Syteline functionalities and best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in ERP development and support, with a minimum 3 years on Infor Syteline.
- Strong understanding of Infor Syteline modules such as Manufacturing, Inventory, Order Management, CPQ/EQ.
- Experience with system integration and customization using Infor toolsets.
- Proficiency in SQL and database management.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with business processes such as Order to Cash, Manufacturing, Procure to Pay, Accounting/Financial, CRM, Quote.
- Assist and advise with implementation with other business units
Preffered Qualifications:
- Experience with other ERP systems such as JD Edwards, SAP, or Oracle.
- Experience assisting with M&A data mapping and system integration activities
- Familiarity with programming languages like C#, Java, or Python.
- Knowledge of business process modeling and workflow automation.
